- This Story Is About:
Tasmania’s rich soil, pure air and clean water produce meat, dairy and other fresh produce that is sought out by foodies all over the world. President Xi Jinping visited Tasmania in 2015 during the signing of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement and put this little-known food mecca on the map for China.
An award-winner, the operator currently manages five dairy properties on behalf of European investors with sell the milk to Australia’s leading dairy distributor. They would like to diversify their investor base and see the growing Asian region as an opportunity to find a strategic partner to buy the land on which the current dairy farm operates. It consists of 1, 000 acres and 1, 000 head of cattle. The sale-lease back proceeds would be used to purchased additional farming land and equipment to expand the operation and increase production.
The ideal investor would be looking to own a piece of Australian free-hold land. They will also receive a regular income from the four to six-year lease-back to the dairy farmer, subject to the price of milk, being a minimum of 2% pa, capped at 7% pa.
